As we move into week two of Extravaganza 2015, I am delighted to provide you with the roster of veteran clad Group Two, sprinkled amidst the 22 of which are four newcomers. This group, known as the Tattoers for their propensity to place (blessedly removable) Circle C tattoos on anything that walks and in every conceivable location, year after year lights up the Twenty Inch Club board, as their mid-Extravaganza positioning oft finds them with excellent weather conditions, with this year being no exception.
Senior in Tattoos this year is our Blackfoot River house partner Shanna “Banana” Rodgers and her beautiful daughter Mardi “CT” Rodgers—hubby “Squawfish Tim” will not be amongst us this year as he will be in Merced (bad draw, pal!) showing off other daughter Alia “Snowflake” Rodgers’ prize pig, the subject of prior email banter and of a full page article in the National Wildlife Federation’s magazine. Resident with them in our Blackfoot house is seasoned veteran Lori “Fawn Lady” Ware (whose Napa pre-school training is perfectly adapted for Da Tattoos) and her returning side kick Gisella “Doc” Carapia—watch out for these ladies, Twos, as their fish production is equal to their high volume on the water, both of which are prodigious!
Parducci Wine owner Tom “Squawfish” Thornhill also marquees the headlines as a seasoned returning veteran who this year will be fishing with former law partner of mine, rookie Chris Holland—the latter of which warns all in advance that his snoring will match the élan of Blackfoot Four! Right at Tom’s side, and I am proud that they return year after year, are returning wine industry veterans Joe “Compari” Ciatti and his partners Greg “Good Living” Livengood and Adam “Iron Man” Eichorn—welcome back guys, your two cases of wine have arrived in advance of you and, courtesy of a posted armed guard, I was able to protect that bounty from the long arm and bottomless wine consumption of Dem Ones (who, yes, again not only lived up to but exceeded their previously thought unbeatable record for wine imbibing!).
Balancing out the insanity of it all is returning San Francisco C.P.A. Kevin “CPA” Sweeny who this year brings back his wonderful son “Wee Brandon”—a couple of years ago I had the mental image of “Wee Brandon” as being, indeed, a wee lad; well, his all well packed 6’2” put aside that myth when I first met him but his name nonetheless stuck! With the ying comes the yang, however, and that is in the wonderful form of veteran returning proprietors of Stiebs Pomegranate, Jerry “The Juice” Pantaleo and his son Tony “No Neck” Pantaleo with partner Brad “Maven” Miller who, this year, will be introducing his 12 year old Jack “Son of Maven” Miller to the wonders of Extravaganzaland.
Also returning this year (and wonderful so, I might add) is Marin natural food proprietor Al “Good Earth” Baylacq who returns with his former roommate and all around good guy Zane “Coyote” Wiley together with neighbors and soon to be two year veterans Matt “Rocking Chair” Brown and “Papa Joe” Brown—great to have you all back this year along with two of your buddies, rookies John McGhee and John Reynolds.
Rounding out the twenty two of the Tattoos mid-way into their (ad)venture with us will be the return from Group One of Eduardo “The Pisco Kid” Barrueto all the way from Patagonia, Chile, who will again be serving Chilean pisco sours to the Tattoos on their final night, before which Montana Matters Troubadour Shane Clouse will have paid a visit for a private Tattoo Concert!
So there you have it, gang, the line-up for Group Two of Extravaganza 2015.
Fish on!!!!
