In response to the pleading inquiries of Group One veteran “Not to Tarry” Winfrey, attached, at last, is not one but two pictures of our traditional Log-o-Meter—logs that were delivered downstream during earlier high water years--unlike this year where twigs are the fodder of the non-runoff--and which have served as a good visual image of the power and amount of a regular year’s flow. In the mega water year of 2011, when the flow exceeded 5,000 cubic feet per second, water flowed over the top of the horizontal log; in normal years, when the flow is at 2,000 cfs the water level is right at the bottom of the cross beam and, as you can see with this year’s current flow being half that the water level is so reflected.
